SAFFRON Sexual Assualt Centre - Consent Event
For the first time in Alberta’s history, we proclaimed May as Sexual Violence Awareness month. And on May 1st of this year, our government announced a commitment to End Sexual Violence in Alberta. This commitment is based on extensive consultation and is founded on three pillars.
- Making sure survivors know they’ll be believed as they come forward, harmful myths get busted, and the need for consent is understood – everywhere, always, no excuses.
- Improving the way our courts, schools, hospitals – all of our institutions – respond to sexual violence; and
- Supporting and defending frontline services that help survivors and deliver education and prevention programs.
